The front cover of the August 30, 2018 issue of the Junee Southern Cross newspaper headlined “Getting the yesteryear glory back to Junee’s Athenium Theatre” and this story extended on to Page 3.

The article detailed how the Friends of the Athenium have a five year goal — “Get it Greta ready”

It goes on to tell how the Theatre has recently secured $48,800 from the State Government’s Regional Cultural Fund for improved lighting and sound, and how an application has been submitted to the Stronger Country Community Fund to cover the installation of air conditioning and heating in the Theatre.

The restoration agenda, which includes a new kitchen and landscaped outdoor arbor, where mentioned.

And other fundraising efforts, including the upcoming “Bridal High Tea” event were discussed.
